Nikko is known as a world heritage. It is 2.5 hours away from Tokyo by train. Let's get out of Tokyo and see the wonderland !
In Toshogu shrine, you can see many artistic architecure, especially many animal in sculputure. They are considered as a symbol of peace.
one of famous animals is Sleeping cat or 3 wise monkey. In ancient times, there was no zoo, so it's rare for ordinary people to see animals.
Since animal sculpture in this shrine ia so real, some say Toshogu is Disneyland in those day.
Here is standard itinerary.
8:30 pick up at your hotel
11:00 arrive at Nikko (by train)
11:00 - 12:00 Rinno-ji temple (Fire ritual) and Futaarasan shrine
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch (Japanese Zen food)
13:00-14:00 Toshogu Shrine
14:30 Kanmangafuchi
15:30 Nikko carving
16:00- 18:30 back to Tokyo
